Chapter 12   TESTIMONY OF ROBERT LEE JAMES

This is my testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  I have had a testimony for many years to the truthfulness, through the inspiration I have had through the help of our Heavenly Father and through magnifying my calling in the Priesthood by the healing of the sick, the laying on of hands for the Gift of the Holy Ghost and many other instruments we have to work with through this Gospel of Jesus Christ.  This Gospel of Jesus Christ which makes life so pleasant for us here on this earth and provides a hereafter if we keep thy commandments.

For many years I have been converted to the paying of tithes and offerings to our Heavenly Father for His kindness unto us and for the many blessings received under His guiding hand.  I am especially grateful for the companionship of my sweetheart of all these many years who has been such a helpmate through all these long trying years on this beautiful earth.

I am grateful for all blessings Heavenly Father, and we know that all these blessings come from thee.  Especially we are grateful of late when we have had the privilege of going to the Holy Land and seeing and proving for ourselves through seeing the places where our Savior walked and taught His Gospel in those early days to the people around Jerusalem and the Holy Land.  We are so thankful for this privilege we had of walking where thy Holy Son walked.  Each time we visited these places we felt His Spirit with us at all times in these places.  We know for sure these are the holy places, and is holy ground, where Jesus Christ walked.  As each time we go to church and hear the people talk about the Bible or any part of Jesus' ministry here on the earth immediately those places come to mind and we can actually see the places they are talking about and see and understand more clearly how these places are authentic and Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He did live in Jerusalem and gave up His life there for the sins of the world for each and every one of us.  How thankful each and every one of us ought to be for what he did for each of us.

I hope and pray that each of us will keep thy commandments, study the Gospel, realize the Bible is the word of God and the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price are the word of God through our prophets here upon this earth.  That these scriptures are for them to live by, to read and understand and incorporate them in their everyday life and make their life more pleasant here upon this beautiful earth.  We're grateful, Heavenly Father, for all these many blessings we've had especially the companionship of my dear wife for all these many years, for the helping hand she has given me in all my assignments in the Gospel.  We humbly pray we will have many more years.

We are so grateful for our family, each and every one of the children and the example they have set in raising their families and helping other people at all times.  We are proud of each of them and we think of them always.  They are boys that any father and mother would be proud to say, "This is my son".  We're thankful, Heavenly Father, for these many blessing and ask thee to forgive us our sins and wrongdoings and be with us always, toe pray in Jesus name, amen.
